Columbia College Chicago – The Hive

The Hive is the renovation of the third floor of one of Columbia College’s Michigan Avenue buildings. The college was in need of spaces for Student Affairs groups to gather for events and meetings. A new large event space, with a stage, space for flexible seating and permanent social stair seating, is included for gatherings of up to 150 people for performances and meetings. Other new gathering spaces in the project include a large kitchen and seating area and a small informal meeting room. For individual pause, Columbia College requested two focus rooms that offer private space. The design of the project was developed through multiple visioning sessions with the Student Affairs stakeholders.
